Village Square
Hanover, MA
Project Overview
MEG was retained by Witsop-1, LLC to fast track the design and permitting of this 11,600 square foot commercial/retail strip mall on an approximate 9.5 acre parcel of land off Washington Street (Route 53) in Hanover, Massachusetts. Village Square is the first phase of “The Village of Hanover”, an approximate 125 acre mixed use development permitted under the Town of Hanover’s Village Planned Unit Development (VPUD) By-Law. MEG was responsible for feasibility analysis, land planning and preparation of civil/site plans and construction documents. The design challenges for this development included providing the required parking to facilitate convenient and safe access for pedestrian and vehicular traffic and design of an enhanced stormwater management system and an alternative septic system design that would serve the project’s needs while providing a high degree of environmental protection for the sensitive wetland resource areas and rare species habitat on the site. MEG also provided construction phase administration services to ensure that the final product was consistent with the value-engineered design.
