MEG was retained to provide engineering services for the design and permitting of Pond View Estates, an 18 unit age-restricted residential development situated on approximately 16.5 acres of land off East Street in Middleton, Massachusetts. MEG was responsible for feasibility analysis and planning, preparation of civil/site plans and construction documents and specifications. The project features approximately 2,000 linear feet of bituminous roadway and supporting parking areas, a stormwater management system designed in compliance with DEP’s Stormwater Management Policy and a pressure dosed septic system situated within an area designated for common open space. Despite poor soil and high groundwater conditions, MEG’s experienced design team was successful in value- engineering the project by integrating the roadway and supporting parking areas into the undulating topography to minimize earthwork while respecting sensitive wetland resources on the site that are tributary to the Ipswich River. MEG assisted the client in obtaining approvals from the Conservation Commission, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and Board of Health. MEG also provided construction administration and inspection services for the project.
